In a small neighborhood of approximately 100,000 people on the outskirts of Lima is a desert community called Manchay. (pronounced monchy) Fear is the meaning of the word in the Peruvian dialect of Quechua. Without resources and without hope, Manchay and it’s very young constituency is a forgotten part of the beautiful city of Lima, Peru.  We are hoping to change this reality.

On December 19th, we are throwing a party in Manchay. Really. We are partnering with a local public school and will be hosting more than 2,000 students and families on public school property to speak life and hope through the love of Jesus Christ. Hip Hop music, inflatables, food, prizes, messages, and even hot chocolate (even thought it’s summer in Peru in December). 100 days later, we will partner with a team coming down from Christian Life Cathedral on the week prior to Easter with one mission: launch a new church in a city called “fear.” Between December 19th and March 20th we will reach out to the families we meet through the Christmas event and invite them to be a part of La Ciudad Manchay.

We couldn’t be more excited about what God is doing in Lima, Peru. We hope you enjoy the video above and we ask you to share it with your friends and family as we are aiming to raise between $15,000 and $25,000 to plant this brand new work in Manchay. (see link below) Also, please be in prayer for Nilton Flores (see  photo below), who will be the pastor of the new work from day 1 and will have the charge to establish local leadership and projects.
